                           BIOGRAPHY  


Denise received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo, NY in 1974 and worked as a Crisis Counselor for several years.
She took her first watercolor class through an adult education course in 1997 and was encouraged by her teacher to pursue an art education. After raising a family, in 1999 she attended the Scottsdale Artists School. During the next 10 years, she participated in over 40 workshops taught by nationally and internationally renowned artists throughout the United States and Canada.

Denise is best known for her rich vibrant colors and creative depiction of subject. Good design, originality, luminosity, and intensity of color are the hallmarks she strives to attain in her paintings. Each work is unique and is a representation of
her creative development.

Denise is a member of numerous local, regional, and national artistic associations. These include the American Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and Northeast Watercolor Society. She has signature membership in the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Baltimore Watercolor Society, Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society, and Buffalo Society of Artists.

Denise is currently an award-winning artist whose watercolors have been displayed in several local, regional, national, and international juried exhibitions. She has received numerous awards including several Best of Show. Her watercolor paintings appear in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. She has had gallery exhibitions and representation at Polo’s in Baja Mexico, Elevenzees in Chicago, and Benjamins in Buffalo, NY.

Denise’s art has been published in “Buffalo Spree Magazine” (Sept 2011), “The Artists Magazine: The Gallery” (2010,2009), two book covers “Mariachi for Gringos I and II” (2006, 2011), “The National Exhibition of American Watercolors” (2009), Cover, The Artist’s Network “Up and Coming Artists”(2009), “Chicago Social Magazine” (Sept. 2007), and in numerous newspaper articles and art catalogs.

Denise teaches Watermedia Workshops in the United States and Canada. She also teaches classes locally to enthusiastic adult students and artists.
